Construction Recruitment Bounces Back

1/5/2017

With Brexit encouraging uncertainty over trade agreements and overseas workers, the UK construction industry was brought to a recruitment halt. However, it seems things are picking up for firms across the country, with construction recruitment agency, Rhino Site Services, reporting an increase in new business in April.

Onboarding clients across various sectors, the firm have reported a 15% growth in new business, with construction bosses feeling more settled with regards to the conditions of a post-Brexit industry. Welcoming new clients in the Build, Civil, Shopfitting and Utilities sectors, are we starting to overcome the impacts of Brexit?

Andrew Roberts, Director of Rhino Site Services believes that while it’s a busy time for the industry, employers have started to work with the conditions of Brexit, having to be creative when running their business in the current economic climate.

“While things inevitably slowed down following the referendum we have now seen a surge in new business, with construction firms putting a great deal of focus on freelance and temporary contracts rather than recruiting for permanent positions”.

Based in Cardiff Bay, the Welsh firm are right on the doorstep of projects such as Central Square, the new BBC Wales headquarters and Capital Quarter, with a certain air of optimism filling the Welsh construction industry.

“As a business, it is essential that we tweak the way we work in order for us to remain relevant to our clients, as well as our candidates. This is why we are now actively seeking workers looking for temporary work in construction, helping SMEs as well as larger firms with tailored recruitment support.”
