Social media strategy for recruitment agencies: Why should you use it?

5/2/2016

It has been several years since the introduction of social media in the UK and it is now becoming evident that forward thinking businesses are regularly using and seeing the benefit of engaging via social media.

With a worldwide subscription of around 800 million registered users, Facebook is still proving to be the social media platform leader, other popular social networking sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn, etc also have a huge share of users.

Though there may be some businesses in the UK that can afford to rely solely on other candidate attraction methods, the fact remains that social media engagement has proved to be crucial for recruitment agencies engaging with both clients and candidates.

Finding the right candidate to fill a vacancy is of course far from an easy task, but social media has proved an extremely worthwhile resource to scout talent.

A growing number of recruitment agencies are taking a keen interest in social media with many agencies running successful campaigns with thousands of followers who can be contacted by using just a few key strokes, that in itself is a powerful and instant way to communicate with potential candidates and employers alike.

It is of course a given that recruitment agencies depend on both employers and employees for their business to be a success, and as such social media allows agencies to form a strong relationship with both the client and candidate.

When forming business relationships, recruitment agencies can use social media sites such as LinkedIn that offer plenty of scope to engage in conversations and build good rapport with the employers.

At the opposite end of the scale where time is of the essence and a short message or statement needs to be released then Twitter provides a very useful platform to do so, using key words also attract new potential followers.

Your business branding plays an important role. Whether a recruitment agency is looking for good business contacts or a list of good potential applicants it is the brand image that separates a reputed recruitment agency from the rest.

Good brand image cannot be built overnight. It requires a sound strategy crafted by an expert international social media marketing consultant. It will cover types of engagement and frequency of interaction on social media. Proper blending of both these aspects is crucial for portraying your brand image on social media.

Using social media sites effectively with engaging content can and will create the right impression, it will ultimately increase your potential client and candidate contacts list and give your business a positive impression.
