HL Plastics, the award-winning company behind the Liniar brand, has been granted planning permission for an ambitious £8m expansion plan.

Building work will commence shortly on a new 150,000 ft2 warehouse adjacent to the existing factory and mixing plant at its Derbyshire headquarters, allowing all manufacturing divisions of the brand to be brought on to one site.
This will also mean the creation of an additional 200 jobs in the local area over the next three years, enabling the firm to cope with an ever-increasing demand for its eco-friendly range of PVC-U windows, doors, conservatory roofs, trade supplies, decking, fencing and piling systems.

Liniar’s foiling plant and roof divisions, located a few miles away from the rest of the operation at premises in Somercotes, will now be relocated, bringing the entire operation on to one site. This will also remove the cost of additional transport and man hours spent shunting materials between the two sites and back again, keeping in line with the brand’s philosophy of being efficient and eco-friendly. “I’m absolutely delighted that our plans have been given the thumbs up,” Chief Executive, Roger Hartshorn, commented on hearing the decision.

“The new warehouse is vital for us to continue to expand and enable us to increase output levels to meet the growing demand for Liniar products. It makes perfect commercial sense to have all our operations running in the same location and we’re always keen to create employment opportunities in the area and continue to help boost the local economy.”

The expansion will also enable Liniar to create an installer training centre, working with local educational institutions to address the skills shortage within the industry and promoting the importance of good practice for window, door and conservatory installations.
